Paul and Robbin Training Change Young Adults

You might remember that a few months ago we made a post referencing that we would be attending and talking up Edify and Sexy Justice at Christian City Church’s Young Adults Conference – Awakening. Well since then I’m happy to report there has been an incredible work of unity and partnership between us. Basically post conference we all sat down and strategised what would be the best way forward to see their young adults trained up and connected into area’s of need. It was decided that they had an abundance of young adults who are passionate and have time to give and that in the inner-city we had several young people who needed a big brother/sister and someone to come alongside them, so we developed an Oasis Mentoring Program, where by young adults from Change would come in fortnightly and connect with individual young people from the Oasis Youth Support Network.

Over the last 5 weeks myself and Robbin and Paul Moulds have been delivering training in various relevant areas to the 90 young adults from Change who expressed an interest in taking this challenge to come alongside at-risk and disadvantaged young people.  Each week the interested young adults would gather a full hour before Change started to receive teaching and we concluded with Q&A and prayer.

We started 5 weeks ago with approximately 90 young adults and last Wednesday we finished with 50, in my mind a great effort. Attached below is a photo from the final night, a formidable looking bunch wouldn’t you say?

Would you join with me in praying for these guys as they begin to walk out and live out all of the training that has been sowed into them, we’re believing for some amazing things to come out of this partnership, but we also recognise there is going to be some challenges so they’ll need support. My challenge is for all the conferences and forums that  I attend and for all the incredible seed that’s sown into my life, what fruit am I bearing?
